Has the lecture—a Format that has been used for centuries to deliver information and knowledge—become unadventurous and predictable? While research has proven that Lecturing is often ineffective as a teaching method , the popularity of TED talks suggests otherwise. why do we continue to lecture? Is it our undying love for storytelling or our blind faith in passive learning?

Developed in the 1960s as a subgenre of performance art, the 'performance lecture' is a hybrid mode of communication that combines techniques from the fields of art, design, education, research and science — Joshua Trees & Yvan Martinez.

On 17th November 2016, Franek Wardynski performed the Invasive Species 2.0  Lecure as part of Model and Countermodel hosted by Booksfromthefuture at Practices of Enquiry exhibition at Cookhouse Gallery, Chelsea College of Art.

Invasive Species 2.0 is a reanimation of a native American makeup tutorial from Youtube. Superimposed on a video of researchers making initial contact with a previously unvisited tribe in south America.
